Stained glass artist Andrew Carey Young hails from Jackson, Mississippi, where he founded the Pearl River Glass Studio in 1975. Young attended Louisiana State University, completing a Bachelor of Arts degree in landscaping in 1975.
Young studied with Ludwig Schaffrath, H. G. Von Stochausen, Pilchuck, Penland, Vladislav Andrejev, and others.
Young was awarded the 2002 Governor’s Award. He was awarded a grant from the Mississippi Arts Commission in 1987.
He has designed stained glass windows for St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Madison and St. Peter’s by the Sea Episcopal Church in Gulfport.
