Artist Dylan Karges was born in Pisgah, Mississippi. He attended Mississippi State University where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2000. Karges earned his Master of Arts in Applied Anthropology-Near Eastern Archaeology at Mississippi State University in 2017.
In 2003, Karges was a volunteer in the AmeriCorps VISTA program.
Karges produces clay sculptures, paints, and creates drawings. He has worked on several public art installations and murals in towns in northeast Mississippi.
He served on the board of directors of the Starkville Area Arts Council from 2005 to 2011. Karges joined the Craftsmen’s Guild of Mississippi as an exhibiting member in 2012.
He currently lives in Starkville, Mississippi, where he works at the Cobb Institute of Archaeology at Mississippi State University. Karges has traveled to Israel to work as an illustrator on an archaeological dig at Tel Halif and Tel Gezer.
