Artist Les Green hails from Meridian, Mississippi. He began studying art in 1935 in a Works Progress Administration art class. In 1936, Green won Best of Show in the Mississippi Art Association’s competition.
Green worked as a portrait and product photographer for many years at his studio in Meridian. He also worked for a construction company for 37 years.
Green began creating miniature works of art using watercolors, colored pencils, and oil paints in 1978.
Green served as president in the Meridian Art Association and the Meridian Museum of Art Artists Group. He was a member of the Miniature Painters, Sculptors, Engravers Art Society in Washington, D.C.
Les Green passed away in 2008 at the age of 92.
