Biography
Harmon was born in Houston, Mississippi. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Mississippi, a J.D. from the University of Tennessee, his master’s degree from the University of New
Hampshire and his doctoral degree in English from the Catholic University of America. He practiced law at Dearborn and Ewing Attorneys in Nashville, Tennessee. He is currently a Clinical Associate Professor of Law at The Catholic University of America’s Columbus School of Law. His novel, A House All Stilled, won the 2002 Peter Taylor Prize for the Novel. Harmon was also a two-time nominee for the Pushcart Prize and the 1994 recipient of the Milton Center Fellowship for the Novel. He has also received a Thomas Williams Short Story Award.
