Biography
Derrick Harriell is a poet who was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Since 2011 he has been a professor at the University of Mississippi in Oxford, Mississippi. He earned an MFA from Chicago State University and a Ph.D. at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2012. He was a poetry editor for The Cream City Review in Milwaukee and Third World Press. He has been nominated twice for the Pushcart Prize. His two works of poetry are Ropes and Cotton.
