Biography of John Davis Osier
John Davis Osier was born on September 8, 1938, and lived in Mississippi for over forty years. Before moving to Mississippi, he taught at the University of Georgia. He became a reporter for The Press Scimitar and taught English at Ole Miss and Northwest Mississippi Junior College until he retired in 2006. He published several short stories and magazine articles. His short story Nooses was published in Burnt Bridge #2 in Spring 2011, V.2. He is the author of four novels: Covenant at Coldwater, published by Ballantine Books in 1983; Rankin: Enemy of the State, published by Penguin Books in 1987; Edge published by St. Lukes Press in 1989; and Mean Moon Blues, published in 2013.
Osier married his wife Barbara, and they had one son (Wes). Oseir died in Senatobia, Mississippi, on October 5, 2013.
