Biography
Maggie Anderson Buckingham wrote Drops of Gold in 1912 as she says in her preface “to inspire one to noble and higher ideals.” Her literary accomplishment was important because not only was she female, but she was a black woman whose work was published. Buckingham lived in Meridian, Mississippi. Drops of Gold includes thirty-five articles which contain bits of wisdom on doing something, gossiping, needs of the Negro race, wives, and other issues.
