Biography
Marion Barnwell is a fiction and non-fiction writer and former assistant professor of English at Delta State University. In 1988, along with author and professor Dorothy Shawhan, she established Tapestry, a magazine of fiction, poetry, and essays, which features writing from authors living in the region who have ties to Delta State. In 1998 Barnwell received a Special Achievement Award from the Mississippi Institute of Arts and Letters. Barnwell retired from Delta State in 2003.
