Biography
Martha Lacy Hall as born in Magnolia, Mississippi, in 1923. She attended Magnolia Public Schools. She obtained a Master’s degree in Journalism from Whitworth College for Women in Brookhaven, Mississippi in 1942. She married Robert Sherrill Hall, Jr. in December of 1942. They had three children. Her husband Robert died in 1991 after a long illness.
Hall was a manuscript editor at Louisiana State University Press from 1968 to 1978. She was managing editor of the LSU Press from 1978 to 1984. Her book titles were Call It Living, Music Lesson, and The Apple-Green Triumph. All won excellent reviews from critics in a wide variety of publications
She died in 2009 in Summerville, South Carolina.
