Biography
Steven Barthelme was born in 1947 in Houston, Texas. He has written more than 120 stories, essays, and articles, and four books — two fiction and two non-fiction. And He Tells the Little Horse the Whole Story is a collection of short stories as is his latest, Hush Hush. His non-fiction books are the memoir, Double Down, which he co-authored with his brother Frederick Barthelme and a collection of essays called The Early Posthumous Work. He currently teaches in the English Department at the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
