Biography
Born in Louisville, Mississippi, in 1949, Thomas D. Cockrell attended Mississippi State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Science Education. He went on to earn a master’s degree in Arts in History and a doctorate in Philosophy.
He currently teaches at Northeast Mississippi Community College in Booneville. He is on the Board of the Mississippi Historical Society (2013-2016). He has written several non-fiction books about the Civil War.
