Biography
William Lafayette Crosthwait was born in Houston, Mississippi, Chickasaw County on May 2, 1873. He studied at National Normal University in Lebanon, Ohio, where he earned a bachelor’s degree. He went on to obtain an M.D. from the University of Louisville in 1899.
Crostthwait married Roberta Eugenia Wiseman in 1900. He practiced medicine in Holland Texas for a few years and then moved to Waco, Texas, to be a county surgeon in 1911. Dr. Crosthwait served as chief of staff at two sanitoriums. He died in 1962.
